SBI to Launch ‘Batua’ Mobile Wallet App for Feature Phone Users”.

After launching a mobile wallet app, SBI Buddy, for smart phone users, State Bank of India will soon come out with a similar software tool for their customers with feature phones.

The soon-to-be launched mobile wallet app will be called ‘Batua’.


“Buddy has already been rolled out which can be downloaded on smart phones. We are coming out with another version of Buddy, which has been named ‘Batua’ and will be for feature phone users.

“Its unique feature is that it will be available for feature phone users. We are hopeful that in the next 3 weeks, we should be able to roll out Batua,” Kumar said. The Batua app will have characteristics of SBI Buddy but will be targeted at customers who use feature phones.

“In India not everybody has a smart phone and that’s why they thought of this version.

Batua can be used to make utility payments, transfer funds and buy air tickets, among others things, and it will be available in 13 languages.

“Delhi Government Launches Swachh Delhi App”.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched ‘Swachh Delhi’ app enabling residents to legal authorities of unclean areas with pictures, and announced ‘Swachh Delhi Abhiyan’ from November 22 to 30.

Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu along with Kejriwal will inaugurate the ‘Swachh Delhi Abhiyan’, a cleaniness drive, a joint initiative of the central government, Delhi government and all three municipal corporations of the city, on November 22.

‘Swachh Delhi’ app, that was released on Monday, has enabled residents to click pictures of garbage and apprise a centralised control room that will direct the concerned government body to attend the complaint.

“The mobile application can be downloaded by giving a missed call on the number . The user will get a message with the link to download the application,” Kejriwal said on the occasion.

“Once you use the application and send us the picture of the garbage, we will automatically get the exact location and the longitude of the place. So, it will be convenient for the residents and local bodies (MCD and PWD) to track the location accurately and clean it.


Municipal corporations will be responsible to collect the garbage and Delhi government’s Public Works Department (PWD) for the debris’ collection.

All the information sent via Swachch Delhi app will also go to the central control room that will store the information.
